Once the leaves are selected it should be heated in a pan. Otherwise, it can also be dipped in herbal oil which is being heated at constant temperature. After heating the bolus, it will be rubbed gently over the parts where (tissues, joints and muscles) the patient is having the problem. Before applying the bolus the excess oil in it should be removed by wiping against the rim of the pan. Otherwise, it will cause inconvenience to the patient. When the bolus cools down, it should be replaced with another heated bolus so that the temperature at the treating point is maintained. After the treatment, the treated parts should be wiped with a tissue paper or a sterile cloth dipped in warm salted water. However, care should be taken while heating the bolus so that it does not get over-heated so that it could provide soothing warmth to the skin. Otherwise it will cause burns on the skin. Based on the severity of the disease, this treatment should be done for 1 or 2 weeks and each session will last from 30 minutes to 60 minutes.
